FAQs
What is In Search of Good Food?
In Search of Good Food is a website that's been created by LURPAK and is part of www.lovelurpak.co.uk. It's designed for people who are passionate about good food, ingredients, food related news and cooking. Every month or so there will be different articles, an online book of recipes, 'signature dishes' from forum contributors, plus exclusive special offers and competitions. The site will also host a number of moderated forums where registered members can post comments and start new threads on articles and recipes, as well as share useful tips and advice. E-newsletters will also be sent out on a regular basis.
Do I need to join?
You don't have to be a member to explore the site - it's here for everyone! But if you'd like to post messages or start a discussion, you'll need to register first. This is partly so we can make sure people use the site responsibly. But it also means you can keep track of all your discussions - handy if you want to find something again quickly.
Will posting messages affect my privacy?
When you join, we'll ask you to create a Forum Name or 'alias', (for example 'pastrygod' or 'OliveGirl') which appears alongside your messages. This helps everyone keep track of discussions, and also search for previous messages by the same people. Apart from that, other details like your real name and email address stay hidden at all times. We won't display them or pass them on to anyone else. Find out more in our privacy policy.
How do I post messages?
Once you're in one of our forums, it's easy to post messages. Just go to a topic and click 'Start a new discussion' or select 'Add a comment' to answer a message that interests you. Then enter your message in the box provided. Please read your message through carefully - once you've posted it, you can't change it!
How do I update my details?
It's easy to change your member details, your password or your profile. Simply go to 'Update details' to view and update your details.
Can I change my member name?
Your member name is the only part of your profile that you can't change. This is partly to make sure people are following the house rules - but also because it would be hard to keep discussions going if the names changed all the time! So please choose your member name carefully as it will appear next to all your messages from then on.
What if someone posts something offensive?
LURPAK's In Search of Good Food is where people can share ideas and views in a safe, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. It's the reason for us having house rules. As an extra security measure, we have a dedicated monitoring team and use automatic screening to check for any inappropriate content. If someone posts something they shouldn't, we aim to stop it before you can see it. If, however, you do come across anything you feel is wrong or makes you uncomfortable, just click on 'Report this message' to inform us. One of our terms and conditions is a request for polite, respectful behaviour. So if someone is creating a nuisance we can take individual's membership away. For more details on our policy, please see our house rules and terms and conditions.
Can I use In Search of Good Food forums to tell people about my business?
The forums are primarily places to share tips, opinions, ideas and recipes. While you're more than welcome to recommend products or food companies you like - messages that look like they've been posted for commercial purposes will be removed. For further details, see our terms and conditions.
Can I post recipes I've seen in a recipe book or TV programme?
Recipes from books or off the TV are normally under copyright. This means you can't post them on the forum without prior permission from the author. As long as you are sure you are not reproducing material in breach of copyright, you can feel free to discuss books, programmes, chefs or recipes that have inspired you. If in doubt, please contact the publisher or broadcaster directly for clarification.
Where can I find out about LURPAK's products?
For more about LURPAK's products, please visit our product page on the ABOUT LURPAK section at www.lovelurpak.co.uk. While some of our colleagues may join in forum discussions from time to time to help with queries - the unofficial, informal nature of the forums means we cannot guarantee all the information here is correct, up-to-date or that it reflects our policies or business.
